2010 Rockford Local Growers Semillon

Semillon is one of the original Barossa varieties that growers have maintained for generations. This wine faithfully reflects the combination made by the Sibley and Kalleske families. Five generations of their families' commitment to the soil ad their accumulated knowledge and skill gives the Barossa its strength, stability, and soul.
Over the year Rockford has learned to pick each of its growers' blocks at varying degrees of ripeness. This ensures that they have multiple options when it comes to putting the blend together. They selectively pick some of the blocks up to three times during a 2-3 week period.
Tasted by Josh 8.8.2020
Colour is lively, yellow, and quite clear. Fresh figs and honey on lightly toasted bread on the nose. The palate was still fresh, well-rounded, and full-bodied with gentle lively acidity. Drinking beautifully, interesting to taste again in a few years and see how it has developed.
Some label staining from a broken red wine bottle in cellar on 3 bottles.- pictured. 20 mm Ullage.
