2013 Yarra Yering Underhill Shiraz

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe dark plums and blackberries abound with liquorice, fennel, smoky cedar and spice also present – quite exotic. Riper and fuller in texture than the 2013 Yarra Yering No. 2 the palate is filled with sumptuous flavours of dark plum, blackberries and liquorice over smoky cedar, fennel/incense like infusions and spice. Soft round textural feel with velvety tannins and a long savoury aftertaste of dark plums, blackberries, liquorice, fennel, smoky cedar and spice. A delicious savoury Yarra Valley Shiraz with more weight and richness than expected.
