2015 By Farr GC Chardonnay

This new Chardonnay is Nick Farr’s tribute to his father Gary and what he has achieved in the Geelong region and also what he has contributed to Australian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir over a 40 year career. Let’s just say it’s some sort of tribute!
Brilliant pale straw colour with a gleaming tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. The nose shows great intensity with white peach and ripe nectarine aromas overlaid by dried honey with subtle cashew, citrusy nougat and faint flinty struck match stick characters following on. Rich and possessing Grand Cru Burgundy like length and power along with a creamy texture, intense ripe peach and nectarine flavours flood the mouth over a backdrop of cashew, light toast and spice. Despite the viscosity of the mouthfeel the finish is vibrant and fresh. Magnificent concentration and power with a very long aftertaste of ripe white peaches, dried honey, citrusy nougat, cashew, light toast and spice. Give it a few more years to build further complexity. - tasted in 2018
