2016 Mount Mary Reflexion Chardonnay

"Reflexion is less about declassifying and more about strengthening the top wines of Mount Mary, though you won’t see Reflexion released every year. From the 2008 plantings on rootstock. “We tasted all individual components before blending and it felt like it was taking away some of the fineness and purity in the Mount Mary wine.”, says winemaker Sam Middleton.

Light golden colour. Whiffs of pecan, honey-butter, ripe citrus and green apple. Right on. Has some flesh in palate but remains crisp and lively despite the apparent width. Indeed, it rips along the palate on chalky, fine acidity and drives long to its mouthwatering conclusion. Sense of ‘minerality’ through and through too. Delicious."

Some minor label damage on a few bottles.
