2020 Renato Ratti Ochetti Nebbiolo DOC

Renato Ratti was a hugely influential character in the history of Barolo who built his fabulous estate in La Morra renowned for a more modern style. He was instrumental for setting rules and policy of Barolo. He died in the late 1980s. The estate is now run by his son Pietro and long serving winemaker Massimo Martinelli who are making exceptional wines – polished and supple showcasing the characteristic elegance of La Morra, the highest village in the Barolo commune.

This Langhe Nebbiolo from the Ochetti vineyard is an ancient wine from the Roero district, which is on the other side of the Tanaro River from La Morra in the Barolo zone. The sandy hills produce a fragrant and fruit-driven Nebbiolo, with floral perfume, forest berry flavours and spice.
