2020 Renato Ratti Reggimento Nebbiolo DOC

Nebbiolo grown in Ratti’s Dogliani vineyards are the source for Reggimento, an area noted for its cooler climate than the La Morra commune to the north. The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine undergo a meticulous selection before and after harvest, and a very limited number of bottles are produced after a long ageing period.

Reggimento is a red wine of superb refinement that will appeal to connoisseurs of upper-echelon Nebbiolo wines of the Langhe.  Vinified with pure Nebbiolo grapes, it is the result of a fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, followed by a maceration of 7-10 days and about 12 months of aging in barrels.

At sight it has a medium intense ruby red color. The nose offers the delicacy of fruity scents such as wild strawberry and raspberry. On the palate it is light and pleasantly bitter, with a full and velvety texture at the same time.

Wine for first and second courses of red meat. Try it with beef escalopes with mushrooms.
