2021 Kay Brothers Basket Press Shiraz

The old basket presses at Kays have certainly seen plenty of vintages. And what that quite gentle fruit pressing provides is gentle wines. That does not mean they can not be big, bold or tannic. More that all the pieces fit together like a glove, as is seen here.

Kay Brothers Basket Pressed Shiraz 2021 vintage release is a deep ruby hue with lifted floral notes, potpourri, musk, dried herbs and charcuterie. The palate has complex flavours led by fresh red berry fruits, aniseed, black olive tapenade supported by crunchy acidity and finishing with fine-grained chalky tannins. An elegant wine that will match many dishes, full flavoured with great balance!
