2021 Samuels Gorge Grenache

Winemaker Justin McNamee loves Grenache, and considers it the signature grape of their winery. It holds a special place in his heart - and when it's this good, it'll work its way into yours too.

McLaren Vale with its windswept coast and its varied ancient geology is the perfect adopted home for Grenache. Here at Samuel’s Gorge, we have expertly blended the fruit from five different vineyards to create this release. This layering of site and flavour allows us to showcase this signature grape to the very best of the winemakers’ ability.

The 2021 Grenache is fresh and incredibly perfumed. It has playful notes of quandong, raspberry and sherbet, grounded by the more earthy scent of vanilla pod and olive leaf amaro. With lovely length and texture, this is a layered, complex wine that will continue to reveal its secrets with each sip.

Enjoy a bottle of this with freshly caught King George Whiting, cooked on open flame and served with whatever is seasonal.

Made in tiny volumes and notoriously difficult to track down; wines like this are the reason why Samuel's Gorge is one of the most loved indie producers in the Vale.
