Low to moderate acidity. Medium bodied. Semillon is more zesty when young with lots of citrus characters, it evolves into a richer wine - almost like chardonnay, with some waxy or lanolin flaovours. Gewurtztraminer is softer, spicy, figs, lychees, fragrant & aromatic.
Keep in mind these wines when young are crisp, crunchy, and zippy. If you like Riesling and grigio, try this wine. They do get much richer as they age.
Setting the standard on so many styles, Rockford are little known for their whites and it is very unjustified. this barrel aged semillon gives a great argument as to the other 'full-bodied' whites that should adorn the dinner table.
The crisp citrus acidity of Semillion is retained and helps the flow easily across the palate. Lees and oak give the texture a little breadth and creaminess but it is well restrained within the structure.
